What has more influence on lines? $ volume (public) or sharp action?
I've heard that public money used to move the line more, but in recent years (last decade) they are more influenced on sharp action.
Thoughts?

Definition: In sports gambling, the term "sharp" refers to an intelligent bettor.
Sharp: Savvy, highly informed; or, used to describe the money bet by sharp players ("a lot of sharp money came in on the Eagles").

Stop talking to me like I am some kind of rookie.
There are certain big players at big books that are known as sharp, there aren't many.

I'm going to say the sharpies. Doesn't look like so much this year, but a couple of years ago, Dr Bob (true, not a bettor) moved college lines a couple of points all by himself.
jj - i haven't played at bodog in a while. i may go back there because its the biggest square book there is. they have some awesome lines available if you are into betting dogs cuz everyone is on fav's there.
what is the deal at bodog, are they paying timely? i know they were having some issues a while back.

Well sometimes you see lines move 4-5 points in a week (mainly college football)
A sharp is moving the line that much? I have to think in some of those situations its because of public $
