#8I have the following....
2007 Honda CRV with about 110k miles
2000 Ford F-150 with about 116k miles
I expect the Honda to go 300k + miles, and at least 200k miles from the F-150Comment -

. But that was after running diagnostics and fixing various things (new starter, timing chain, complete fluid change, etc.). Felt almost like a new car that read 190k. It was definitely nice to know a mechanic to save some money.

#28I've had several 1970's era Toyota corollas and similar with 250k on them ( in the 80's). I used to buy them for $200-300. I agree that 300k miles is not unrealistic with the better cars of today. You just need to do the routine stuff to maintain them.Originally posted by jnickell100Pretty much. Most of the newer cars can go 300k easily if treated right.
I got 100k miles out of front brakes on an 2007 Honda and the rear brakes are still 60% at 110k. The sparkplugs last 100k miles. An american car from the 70's was usually shot at 100k unless it was a Dodge dart.
new cars suck for value. buy a 5++ year old, well maintained Honda with 100k on it....best value out there. It still has 200k to go and costs 5k instead of 25k.Comment -
