        "The Gambler"

Classic novelette (or long short story) by great Russian writer (and compulsive gambler) Feodor Dostoyefsky.

Since you haven't read much, I would suggest something that stays with you through life.

"Theory and Design for Mechanical Measurements" should have been called "The Cure for Rampant Insomnia". Really this book is so HEAVY on the differential equations and integrals that it may even challenge the master of Math everybody knows as Ganch.

This is an obscure one,but I promise you will like it.

I loved this book and it's an easy read. It's called No Limit by John L.Smith who is a Las Vegas newspaper journalist. The book is a biography about former casino owner Bob Stupak who is the clown prince of Vegas. You still see Stupak now and then on TV poker. It gives you a good insite as to what goes on behind the scenes in Vegas casinos.I would say that everyone here at SBR would absolutely love this book. They should make it into a movie staring Christopher Walken that looks like a dead ringer for Stupak.

I used to stay at Vegas World allot which Stupak owned before it turned into the Stratosphere. It was an absolute hoot stayingt here. The tv series from about 17 years ago called Crime Story on NBC was shot on location there. The place was a 3 ring circus.

I'm sure you can still get this book at all the big online book sellers like Amazon.

Jonny Magic and the Card Shark Kids

It's a quick read about how the culture of the game called Magic spawned the youngest generation of successful poker players. It's not a deep book, but as someone who thinks of Magic as a kid's game it made my world a little bigger.

Bookie, I am in the middle of the Jonny Magic actually. Not a bad read. Amazing how many Magic guys have gone on to play poker.

I just read Inside the Mind of BTK: The True Story Behind the Thirty-Year Hunt for the Notorious Wichita Serial Killer.

Not for everyone, but really well written. More weird and interesting that anything that a novel writer could come up with.
