Clearly someone told him "Start Vick or you are fired".
Good, Reid is a moron.

The Illuminatie. Vick is the better choice unless you like bad white quarterbacks.

I agree 100%, I have been saying all along Vick should start.
But he changes his mind 1 day later? Clearly someone in the front office told him to start Vick or he's fired.

Wow I figured this thread would be about Kolb playing instead...haven't watched any espn since the monday night game....very surprising as it's usually a politic move b/c of the high draft pick and money paid to him. Vick's schtick does wins games, but it never gets you a ring.

Vick will be good for about 1 more start before defenses Coral him. Just enough time for Kolb to get healthy and take over.

Kolb most likely would not make the playoffs being qb. Vick being qb has a better chance.

Kolb got injured and lost his job. He deserved atleast one more crack. Bad decision by the Eagles.

The financial pressure is to go with Kolb. The thing is at this point in time Vick give them the best chance to win right now. Vick has looked much better this season, his quickness has returned. I agree with the move.

Considering he changed his mind the next day, I would agree someone must have confronted him about starting vick

the weak eagles o-line is what made vick the starter mostly. If that was kolb in that lions game. he would have been destroyed.
But i also think reid was strong armed as well, but at the same time realizing kolb's time is not right now

Concussions take a lot more time than the NFL is willing to give. In baseball, Jayson Werth had two off years after a concussion, then started producing after being traded to the Phils. If Kolb wasn't looking good in practice and Vick played like a stud, why not give him a chance until "further notice" while Kolb actually gets healthy.
Dodging blitzers like a matador was impressive, but lets see if Vick can keep making those 20+ yd throws to Jackson and Maclin against teams that aren't the Lions, and if he can, he's got at least a couple good years left.
Walter forgot... when you're desperate's when you got no choice.

Also, the media is spinning this like the biggest mistake possible. I'm sure that if Kolb was starting the storyline would be how Vick played his heart out and is getting no reward from the cruel Philly fans and coaching staff. Screw you, ESPN.

Since Vick is the starter do you think we will still see Kolb coming in and being QB but Vick remaining as an option guy?

Its all about money, Vick brought alot of $$ to the city of atlanta for his exciting way of game play. Not saying that Kolb will not be a elite QB in the future but who wants to see someone learn how to play the game, when they have someone that was a star and still have the ablitly to produce.Vick brings ratings up and that equals to higher ticket sales and more money for the organization. Not saying hes a good person after all those incidents... but in this world, money talks..my 2 cents

it was odd, i mean it was the right decision but very unlike reid. maybe this is the best thing for all parties. the way that the oline was breaking down in protection kolb may have gotten his head handed to him last sunday and the last thing he needs is another concussion.

Owner probably told him to start Vick. Cant wait to see what he does against a good team. I'm not impressed by anyones stats against the Detroit Lions.

What coaches say in the press is sometimes important. But not nearly as important as their desire to win now.
Kolb is done. The Cards, who went into the preseason with Leinart as number one (now third string in Houston...), should pick him up. They suck with Anderson.
