the canadian mens hockey team looks good to win the gold medal at +139 at pinny but the recent news on their defensive corps worries me. Scott Niedermayer has a small tear in some knee cartilage that may force him to miss the olympics. Ed Jovanovski reinjured his groing in the jan24 game and is still day to day. Bryan McCabe out with groing practiced this week, although results were positive rumors are going around that he will need 4 to 6 more weeks to heel. pending news on theses players will influence my decision.

If you like Canada, betting individual games is much more value than odds +139 on them winning the tournament. The olympics are played in Europe this time and the wider rink will give more advantage to the European teams. Russia, Sweden, Czech all has very solid teams and also USA and my home country Finland are not without a chance. It will be very interesting betting these games. I will stick to invidual games rather than betting the tournament winner.

i just stated a prop i like for the olympics. I myself will look to bet game by game, but the only think i don't like is the lines are in the form of spreads.
Example: Canada -5.5 -110
Germany +5.5 -110
wider rink short rink doesn't matter, the reason canada lost the gold to the tchecks at the world championships last spring was because they had guys like sheldon souray on the team that couln'd pass the puck up front for the fowards to score. Without a potent defense you lose.
