Just ONE example of the NITWITS voting in the AP POLL

Here’s the ballot I just sent to the AP. I’ll post a few quick comments now, while watching the Arizona-Iowa game on tape and downing an In-n-Out burger.
But the team-by-team comments and ballot info won’t get posted until late Sunday or Monday due to a change in my writing schedule.
I’ll focus these comments on the Pac-10 teams:
* Moved Oregon up two spots but kept the Ducks below Florida. I realize the comparative scores against Tennessee favor the Ducks, but that’s offset by Florida’s stronger overall resume (Oregon has what amounts to two FCS wins).
* Moved Arizona onto the ballot in the No. 12 hole, one spot behind Iowa. Yes, Arizona won the head-to-head, but it came in Tucson in the final minutes — a quality showing by the Hawkeyes.
And as with Florida-Tennessee, I view Iowa as having a slightly better overall resume than Arizona.
* Moved Stanford onto the ballot after UCLA got its act together (at least temporarily) with a victory over Houston — a win that greatly improves Stanford’s profile.
* Dropped USC five spots, to No. 23, largely because of Hawaii’s loss at Colorado. (Winning at Minnesota, which lost to South Dakota, does nothing to help USC’s ballot-worthiness.)
* Dropped Oregon State to No. 25 after the Beavers struggled to beat a bad Louisville team in Corvallis.
