If you are laying 20-50 per, with 20 a fun bet and 50 an opinion that is way off.
Fun bets should be categorized and followed to see what if any profit exists. If no profit exists, it should be cut further if not out all together.I would make fun bets 10.00 per and keep track.50 on plays is fine if that is what your comfort level is BUT...make the play have a solid angle too it. This ,I will bet 20 on Thurs. 40 cus it is Sunday , is no way to run a business.
If you can justify a play, make it 50. Fun or entertainment plays should be 10.
There MUST be a criteria set in place that you design.
Document these and you will be amazed at the amount of money you will have saved.
If you have ever been to the track, what you are probably doing is betting light on the early races and heavier on the late races. As you drive home , you think back that on a scale, you liked the horse in the 2nd or 3rd more than the one in the 9th but bet way less because of the timing.
                THAT MUST STOP!!
Best Bets are just that. It can not matter where they fall within the card.

Hope that helps.Best of luck to you. I enjoy your posts. (And , for me you are more age appropriate than some other posters. At least it seems that way.).

$50-$100 is usually average unless I really build up my bankroll. Then who knows.

                            100 per play

no such thing as capping games, watching a game and knowing teams is much more effective

                            stats mean basically nothing

                                          Depends on what I'm playing.

If I'm playing a heavy college football ML parlay i'll wager 500 to win 125-200. When I do sweetheart teasers, they're usually 500 to win 400

                                          But baseball 50-150
                                          Football sides 50-300
                                          Football ML's 100-500

I normally only keep 1-2K in the book, and wager 5-20% per bet

Nice post, agree with the part about betting small early games winning 3-0 and then betting it all back on the late game going 3-1 and have a losing day.
