Rivers to play vs the pats

The NFL Network reports Philip Rivers (knee) returned to practice Friday.

Chargers coach Norv Turner indicated earlier in the week that if Rivers was able to practice, he'd play against the Patriots. Expect him to start, but don't be surprised if he struggles to escape in the pocket. Billy Volek could also end up seeing some snaps. Jan. 18 - 2:37 pm et

I don't really value anything they or ESPN say. Norv Turner is doing a live press conference right now and stated Rivers is still doubtful in his mind for the game, and is listed as doubtful. He said he got 1/3rd of reps in practice and will look at how he's moving around on Sunday. He might be being disingenuous but I think there's a good chance Volek gets playing time if Rivers is that limited.
