that defense has come a long way in recent years. they have a decent amount of talent and youth on that side of the ball, i think it would be a decent sized set back for that organization. i also think hes one of the more well respsected coaches in the league, it would be tough on the colts to lose him. I like Jim Caldwell, but he'd have large shoes to fill.

#2agree that it would be a loss, don't agree with dungee's tactic of resting players too early when they clinch. they get paid to play 16 games, let them play 16 fcuking games.Comment

ne played their guys hard and they look great, obivously. this is the 2nd time the colts have lost at home in this round after resting guys. maybe there is something to it. then again, maybe they just need to catch passes that hit their hands.

#6Offensively they'll be a powerhouse, still. Defensively? It all depends if they tinker with their system. Dungy's cover 2 scheme calls for lots of cheap and fast players. Even if they keep it in tact, a new coach might want talent via the draft that doesn't plug into the current system as well - so it's going to be in heavy transition.

It seems like the vast majority of the Colts players that they keep are really more a product of Dungy's scheme - when they leave as free agents for the big payday, they blunder themselves.

Talent for talent - the Colts D has some of the worst talent in the league on D - but the unit together is outstanding. They do have 2 bigtime playmakers, though - so that helps. But lacking even 1 of those playmakers (Freeney or Sanders), they are not the same D.Comment

#7AS much as manning likes caldwell, remember when Manning made rookie mistakes like read pass when needing to kill the clock. He'd say I read man/man coverage and would throw the ball 3 straight times then punt, leaving time remaining for comeback drives. Anyways. I remember those two having growing pains for there relationship. I'd have to think Caldwell would be in over his head with that roster.

Indy's defense needs improvement. There offense can score. They just need a pass rush.Comment

#10I think Dungy would be a real loss. I met him at the Bucaneers training camp a few years ago. He was a real nice person to me and my family. We talked for about five minutes.

I think his personality fits the current players. I am not saying the Colts will not compete without Dungy, but I think we will not see the Colts back in the Super Bowl for a long time if Dungy leaves.Comment

#13I am a Colts fan and I love Dungy, but I think a change might breathe some fresh air into this team. If Dungy has the slightest urge to "move on", I hope he takes it. But, if he still has something to prove and has the passion, I hope he comes back. It's all up to Dungy and what is in his heart.Comment
