Would you hedge against The Prick?
Lets assume you are 4-0 or 3-1 in BTP this week.

You know if The Prick hits his play tonight your payout will be much more than if he loses it. Would you bet for or against his pick with real money and what is the best strategy (with him or against him)?

it depends on the person.. but obviously if you try to hedge in this scenario youd bet the same side as the prick

          Nah,

Having pushed his best bet already this week, the payout is going to be thin even if he wins tonight.

What are you guys guessing the 4-0 or 3-0-1 (hit best bet) type people will collect if he wins?

this week your payout will not be that much anyway. id only THINK about hedging if he went 3-1 or 3-0-1

I don't think that will be the case....it depends how well you do.

pavy, you said payout "much more" if he wins. That is not true this time. Earlier, before the last 2 games, I estimated the difference in payouts for prick winning or losing. Not a significant difference -- less than $20 difference for the 4-0 people --- and that was excluding all the pending plays there on Monday afternoon.

BTP is fun money. Wouldn't hedge with my real bankroll to cover a giveaway.

if you have no thoughts on the play either way, and you can get a decent number, hedging will always make sense. is it worth doing if its just a little bit of money, though? nah.

if the anticipated payout is greater than your typical bet size/unit (for most ppl that is $100), id say go ahead and hedge.

only way i would hedge if i knew only 10 or so could beat him and i was looking at least 1k or more payout.

that is not likely ever going to be the case with so many in the contest this year.

30-40 each week will most likely go 4-0

I heard he didn't have a good start. Honestly never heard of him, is he this good to be put out as the guy to beat?
