I got my two year degree in marketing/psych and Im looking for a full time job. I currently work part time for my dad's carpet cleaning business and also as poker dealer. I inquired about this ad to become a pharmacy tech after taking this 6 month course only one night a week for 3 1/2 hours. Seems like a nice job to have, and i was wondering if anyone had any advice about. The class costs $3500 and I just didn't want to rush into something like this. It seems to be a growing employeer and something that I feel would be interesting, in a clean workplace, for good money. I can always fall back onto my dad's business (very good money and not much hours) but he isn't going to retire anytime soon, so I need something atleast in the mean time.
Anybody in pharmacy out there?

#2Congrats on the degree man. I have a friend who earned a two year degree as a surgical tech....cleaned surgical instruments, surgery prep, it paid a little over 30k a year. He parlayed some of those credits towards becoming a pharmacist. Two years in.....as a full fledged pharmacist he was earning a little over 65k. I would assume a pharmacy tech would max out at half that salary.
My advice would be, see if any of your associate degree credits can transfer into a four year degree. Thats the route I went as well. Started off at a crappy community college, finished up at Uconn.Comment
