Petrino will always have top QB's wanting to play for his system. I also heard that he already signed the number 1 QB coming out of High School.

Terrell Pryor hasn't committed anywhere yet but is probably going to Michigan. Arkansas isn't on his list.

      LK,
I haven't been following this story terribly closely, but I thought he was on his way to Tennessee.

Honestly, if Mallet wants to play in a "pro-style" system in college going to Ark. doesn't seem to make a lot of sense to me.

Petrino runs a very nice style of offense that could parlay into the NFL , just watch Brian Brohm. Everyone thinks of B Petrino and they think THROW THROW THROW, but that is not the case, he attacks you with a very balanced offense.

I heard tennessee at first also, but just heard on ESPN at the halftime show of the ohiost/michst BB game.

Mallett was only looking at Tennessee when the Vols were considering Scott Loeffler, his position coach at UM, and Mike DeBord, UM's OC, for positions. Now that UT has hired Dave Clawson as OC, who's actually ran a bit of the spread in his past, Tennessee is no longer on his list. UT probably could have had Mallett if they just gave Loeffler a small position on the staff, but now Arkansas, where Mallett is from, is the clear front-runner.

Tennessee dropped the ball here, IMO. I'd imagine mofome isn't pleased with the turn of events. Maybe that's why he's been absent the last few days - he's probably on suicide watch with his beloved Vols losing out on Mallett.

I wasn't very happy at first either but I'd rather have a more mobile QB. Crompton is more Shuler like.
Clawson adapts his offense to the type of personnel he has.
"You have to adapt to your personnel," Clawson said. "The one thing that I think that you learn coaching at the I-AA level is that you can't be so system-regimented."
When he was at Villanova, he used a passing attack that threw for over 4000 yds then later had a more balanced system that that featured Brian Westbrook rushing for 1000 and receiving for 1000. Richmond's 2004 and 2005 offenses used more of a spread scheme.
Being a fan for over 30 years, I truly believe that is what TN needed. I'm not too worried about Mallet afterall.
