    Forward pass rules
During the Green Bay game, myself along with my drunken buddies got in an argument about Brett Favre throwing an forward pass underhanded. I know it is legal for them to do it now days but I swear that this used to be illegal. I remember that a quarterback could not throw a forward pass underhanded and it had to be a shovel pass or overhanded. I was the only one in the room that thought this and I have no way to prove it to my buddies. Do any of you remember this rule? Please advise if I have become delusional!!!!!

I think its okay as long as the passing player is behind the line of scrimage. I may be wrong here though.

that's what everyone else is saying also. i agree that is the rule now but i swear when i was younger, they always had to review the play to make sure his arm was going overhand and not underhand
