guys im going to vegas on saturday and ive never been one to play casino games other than the occasional blackjack but i want to accrue some points on my players card for future rate discounts. so im going to play some slots. what slots should i play. how long and how much money per pull? thanks for any info

Don't play slots, play video poker, you'll accumulate more points for longer playing time and have a better chance at hitting a nice jackpot. Search around and look for machines that pay the most coins for the lowest hand. For example, some machines pay better for just hitting a pair, 2 pair, 3 or kind, etc... Good luck man!

IF you play slots dont play penny or nickle slots. if you max bet it can be up to $10 a spin. You can lose $100 in literally 2 min. (ASK ME HOW I KNOW)
find a quarter machine with 3credits max bet. Thats $0.75 a spin. Sometimes the older casinos have 2 credits max bet. I have won few thousand before on a $0.50 spin.
But like Mike said slots are almost better not to play. Worst odds you can have. But you can win big without betting big, if you get lucky

Look for a 9/6 Jacks or Better poker machine and play that. You can play for $1.25 per hand. If you go to wizard of odds website you can get a strat. card for free and study up before you go.
If you're not wanting to invest a lot of time studying the strategy for video poker play, your best option would be to find a small progressive slot, jackpots under 1K and play that for max bet.
The bigger the progressive jackpots on slot machines the less the payout, but not the same for the progressive Video Poker.
VP can have a low edge if you follow the strategy with no mistakes, or VERY few.
I would suggest finding a nice 25c 3 coin progressive under 1K or so and put a little time in that.
