Everyone lay off the guy, and you guys are wrong for taking shots at his parents. Not everyone is as fortunate as the guy next door, we all live vastly different lives and come from different backgrounds and have different things going on. You don't know his parents' situation and it is wrong to judge him or his parents on this. Not everyone is a lawyer or a CPA or a doctor. Some people go through rough times and this country is going through a rough time, so chill out and have a little sympathy.

Like others in this thread, I'll never be in that position. My mother will never spend what she has.

Hypothetically speaking, I suppose I would expect it back, as I repaid loans from my parents. I wouldn't ask/pressure her for repayment, but yeah, I kinda would expect to get it back.

I've never been in this position so this is completely hypothetical on my part but I don't think I'd expect it back. They would be the only two people in my life who would get that free pass though as I figure if they needed it, they deserve whatever help I could offer for the whole giving me life and supporting me until I was an adult business. Unless they are complete nutters I could imagine it would be very humbling and mortifying to have to ask your child for money and that alone is enough to make me not broach the subject again regardless of how much I needed the money myself.
