Scratch Jacksonville's Defensive coordinator off the Head coaches list
That was like shooting fish in a barrel.

Yes NE was the better team but show some imagination and attack. NE didn’t turn the ball over and didn’t punt until the last 2 minutes, a throw out. That’s zero drives stopped.

That “keeping it in front of you” strategy is slow death and a sure way to get beat. Did Jacksonville ever start a drive past their own 30? I don’t think so. You got to take some chances and get a 3 and out to beat a team as good as NE.

Got to disagree with you John.

Jacksonville played pretty tough, they'd have beaten a lot of teams tonight, Garrard was incredibly sharp, his receiver should have hauled in an on the money pass for a TD late in game too.

Playing against NE isn't easy when NE is working the field like that and not going for the home run. Brady was 26-28 260+ 3TD 0INT with two drops for Christ sakes, how can anyone really defend that? Had they pressured his ass even more, it could've got uglier, like when he was being chased and threw a 53yd strike on what was initially a designed screen. He's so unbelievably good.

I disagree John I think that the Jags played as well as they could, New England has way too many horses for them. New England was just a better team than the Jags was today. The only team that has a shot at beating them is the Colts and that it!!

Here is how you beat the Patriots. You recruit a defensive player from the Texas Correctional League (Texas state prison system). By "player" I mean the most sadistic psychopath you can find. Someone who is getting out soon LOL. Then on game day tell him "you get a $100,000 bonus if you hit Brady and he doesn't get back up again". Take the 15 yard penalty. Simple.

Mike Tice might interview for the Dolphins job it was reported in the Minnesota paper a few days ago. Not sure what he does on the Jacksonville coaching staff

I bet SD will NOT have the same stradegy of letting Brady complete every pass. You have to take some chances and try to get your defense off the field. You MUST hit Brady with some clean shots off a blitz and get him thinking.

I met Mike Smith last year in Memphis at a coaching clinic. The guy didn't have much of a personality but he knew his shit about defense.

                      jjgold,

The Giants did have a good game plan to beat New England. That is the only way that you can beat them.

                        TOTALLY DISAGREE

They lit the G men up for 38 points . . . Brady is way too good and will pick that pressure apart. Pressure means nothing with a 5 wide set, because their will always be several people open. The only way to beat this team is similar to what the jags did. Shorten the game, and hope for some bounces to go your way(seriously). The jags dropped two touchdowns passes(everyone seems to forget this) that would have prob won the game for them. If you pressure your are done. Pressure is affective on a QB /offense like manning/colts, because they work out of alot of ace formation in which their are less targets running routes due to picking up the pressure. With 4 and 5 wide sets there are always different levels of wr's and brady will have no problem getting rid of the ball. Also working out of shotgun gives him some extra time.

If those TD's were caught everyone would be saying how great the gameplan was! . . . When in fact is was great already

Best chance is just freq switching up different zones and some man under with zones deep for donte and randy, I believe I would work out of a 4-2-5 most of the time. . . Pressure from the front 4 of course is great, but blitzing extra people will crush you
