    Grand Salami Question
Guys I went in today 50/50 with a buddy on a Grand Salami bet.

The total was 133 and we are like 50/50 from winning.

Anyways my question is the following.

The totals of all the games was 127.5 and the Line for the Grand Salami was 133. What does that tell you guys? I mean my inital and still gut is telling me the under was the right play. I hope we win and have a good chance, I just think if the line =127.5 and they want you to pay for 133 that means that Under is the play and vice versa?

Who here has played grand salami's and what do you guys think about my theory?

    Matt

I am sorry a Grand Salami is the total of all games combined so I got Over 133 so I need the total of all games to be greater than 133

I agree with your thinking, I would have leaned the same way with the under because it has some value getting 5.5 runs more than if you just added up all the totals but you have to keep in mind it only takes a game or two to kill a salami, so this kind of makes up for those 5 or 6 runs extra you are getting. I don't like playing the salami for a couple reasons but one is what I mentioned above, only takes a game maybe two to screw you over on an under play and two, you could look golden and if one games gets shorten by rain, your bet is graded as no action, not worth it IMO.

Hope all is well and best of luck on your journey.

nice, you should get it...think over is the only way you can play a salami lately with a few games getting up in the high teens on a nightly basis, the one game could pull you through even if all the others just stay around the totals.

            Iceminers,

I agree with you 100%, we were just looking for some different types of bets late in the baseball season in an attempt to find a niche and just to be different.

didnt play it big just for a hun

nothing wrong with playing around with small figures to try some new angles, never know when you're going to find something that can generate profits consistently

i'm sweating out this LA/SD under, going along like an under but when it was set so low, can't afford any mistakes, hopefully ends up 2-1 or 3-2

the books make it like this on purpose, the average total is barely even 8 nowadays but you still get 20+ run games, so even though about half the games go over and half under when they go over it is usually by more runs

They usually give a bit more room to the over, I think the theory being that if there is 8.5 to 9 runs average for each game in the figure, a game (1-0) can only diminish by 7.5 or 8. The upside is more unlimited.
Watch if there's a plethora of home teams # as big faves..........which is expected to eat up your innings as they aren't expected to bat in the bottom of the 9th.
