An amazing starter who will go 24-4, 2.12 ERA.. 280 strikeouts.

    OR

    a power hitter who will have 44 Hr's, 134 RBI's, 215 hits and a .311 BA, and play 156 games..

This question can go either way.. i am leaning towards starting pitcher

bronxer, i think alot of people might argue that one.. they can say a pitcher only starts 35 times a yr, where an everyday player plays everyday..

i am only like 51-49 on pitcher. some will argue this..

What position does the hitter play? How good a fielder is he? what kind of walk rate/plate discipline does he have?

Are we talking a plus fielding center fielder, Shortstop or third baseman or a guy who can't play the field with out butchering it?

not even close the pitcher, if the hitter was say torii hunter in his prime in the field also then the hitter but just assuming a DH vs that pitcher, pitcher all day

Just your everyday clean up hitter. can't say what position.. avg fielder, avg arm.. just a great power hitter.

also, whoever says pitcher by a mile is wrong.. don't forget if he has 44 hrs and close to 140 rbi's.. he will have many walk off hits/homers, many big game winning rbi's.. iow, he will turn many many losses into a win.. that is a big swing each time. he don't play 32 games a yr, he plays 156 games.. with close to 5 ab's a game.. he will turn many many losses into wins with those #'s..

in my opinion, this one is so tight. not pitcher by a mile. power hitter will win you many many games alone and turn losses into wins, and he hits well over .300...

assuming the player is an average fielder for say right field or 1st base it close to a toss up.

Ill take an average fielder at SS, C maybe CF or 3B with those numbers over the pitcher -

Give me a plus fielder at almost any base, an yes I willl take Pujols over Lincecum --

Give me the pitcher and I'll go to a 4 man rotation like they use to
