#9Don't they have one of those Presbyterians just about everywhere? You know like Kentucky Presbyterians, Tennessee Presbyterians, South Dakota Presbyterians, Utah Presbyterians. Or are those mostly Wesleyans? I get those Presbyterians confused with those Wesleyans. They are everywhere those Presbyterians and those Wesleyans. They should merge all of them. Wesleyans from somewhere came to Tampa in 1997 and lost to USF 80 to 3. Bulls first game ever.
Which Presbyterians were these? South Carolina Presbyterians maybe? Wanted a two team moneyline parlay on Clemson against the Prebyterians and USF against the Stony Brookers. Big Time. Cha Ching money in the bank. Couldn't find these lines anywhere. Books afraid to gamble when it comes to Presbyterians, Wesleyans and Long Islanders.

#10Jonsey, there is only one MAIN Presbyterian.......and that is who Clemson is hosting.
They are shit.......I have followed them closely for years, because I'm Presbyterian myself.Comment -

#15Fisher I am surprised you don't follow the mighty Coe College Kohawks. You being a Presbyterian Hawkeye and all.
They have already scored 31 straight points while cruising past Iowa Wesleyan. C'mon man. There's another one of those Wesleyans I was talking about for God's sake.
Next up for them is Olivet Nazarene, You hanging a number for that one?Comment -

I do................
Bills RB Fred Jackson attended Coe............as did former NBA coach Bill Fitch.
A young FH also went 2-3 with an infied single and a looping liner into rightcenter for a standup double vs Coe in a hotly contested affair in the late 70's.........remember it like it was yesterday. I also recall striking out to end the game and stranding the tying runner at 2nd base.........this after going 2-2 with a walk and a HBP. This is why I recall this game so vividly, as it haunted me for years.
The final score was something like 12-11Comment -

#17Congrats Fisher, a good day at the plate. High scoring affair for sure. But sir did you not also briefly, perhaps very briefly, toe the rubber in this game. If so please give us your pitching line including ERA for this game. If you did not appear as a hurler in this particular game, your mound stats for the year will suffice.
Thank you sir.Comment -

#18Forgive me my friend, but I can't resist. I'll see your 2-3 against Coe College with my own 2-3 game against LHP Jerry Koosman in A Ball more than a decade earlier and I'll raise you. Oddly enough it was an infield single and a looping liner to righcenter as well.Comment -

Ended my college pitching career at 0-1 with an ERA slightly better than infinite(got two men out somehow, someway).
Nice to see you posting here Jonesy.
I was actually thinking of making a one year comeback at the semipro league in Iowa........something to motivate me...........I'm sure I can muster one basehit if I get 10 plate appearances.Comment -

Thats definetly better.....I have no way to trump that, as anything I did at the college or semipro level cannot top anything you accomplished at the professional level.
Well, perhaps my one or two of my best games at one of the non-professional levels that was truly outstanding.........which would total only one or two.
Ok, will trump you.......but with your next trump, I concede as I will not be able to top you............
At the semipro level(which probably wasn't to much worse than A), had great day at the plate(including a homer) but also made 3-4 simply HANG A STAR on them defensive gems in CF.
Sir, this is far as I go.........asyou produced numerous games in your career that can top this, largely due to the fact that yours were accomplished at the professional level. Having said that, that particular day I shined brightly in front of 332 fans and players, which included one or two scouts.Comment -

Kids and Kubs are well known softball clubs that played regularly against each other, and probably still do, in St. Petersburg. Been around since something like 1930 I think. Back in the day they sometimes played at Al Lang and in front of 5,000 and more fans on occasion.
I know they were still active in 2009. Assume there are still at it. Don't know for sure though.
Got to be 75 years old to play. So you can be a rook at 75. But hell man, there are only 2 teams and thousands of geezers in St. Pete, many of whom can still get around and more than a few who have played some ball. So the ball they play is not too bad all things considered and I assume it is highly competitive to make a roster..
They wear these all white uni's that make them look like jai-alai players. Google Kids and Kubs.Comment
