When they say y'all, for example, this does NOT necessarily mean everyone. and if they say something bad about someone, they always following with "bless his heart," like that make it ok. I was in an elevator in Boston once and it was crowded so I could not reach the buttons, so I said "Would you'uns be kindly enough to mash floor 5". It took the Yankees about 3 minutes to figure out what I had said. They had to ask me what "mash floor 5" meant.
