Is Veetle safe?

Thursday night I tried to watch a couple of preseason games online at the usual sites, now they require "Veetle" to be downloaded to watch. I didn't want to risk it, especially for a preseason game. Has anyone used this? Is it free of any malware or viruses?

i think it is safe
have used it several times in the past and never had any problems

just got it yesterday as well - no problems so far and I love how it's no longer a program you need to start up.
