    Any computer guys here
    Here is an IP.
    211.199.105.174

It comes out of South Korea. However, it did not originate from there. This was a spoofed address. Does anyone have the ability to track down where it really came from? If I can find the originator I can end 4 years of identity theft and harassment. Thx

Depends where it came from and how you got it. Right now you have a letter with a wrong return address on it.

I'm not very big on computer tech stuff, but I'm curious about this if you'd share what happened? Did you have your details stolen at work or you're not sure where it happened?

More than likely the Korean IP was from a proxy server (obviously used as a way to avoid their actual IP from being seen) , Korea has many of them, many are free servers. Try google and search fore "free proxy server" and see what that gets you.

If you have an email from the person it can be traced to the original IP address, probably not without some assistance.

4 years of identity theft and harassment. He is very good at spoofing IPs and I know he works in the collection agency field. Quite the clever criminal. I am about 50/50 sure he is in Florida with me. I may even have his handwriting. What I need is a way to break through his spoofed IPs and track him to where he lives or works. If I ever nail him he can enjoy the rest of his life in prison and if he is doing this from a collection agency like I think he is then I will put them out of their misery.

If you have been saving the emails you receive it may come in handy at a later date.

Even though you can't see his true IP address the proxy server he uses will log his originating IP, date and time etc. This is where you will need help from the authorities to get access to those logs, problem is the Korean ISP providing the proxy mat not cooperate.

There is the possibility of having your ISP assist you by tracing the route the email took to get to you. Every server it goes through "stamps" the message and logs IP time date, etc. Much information can be gained by looking at the headers in the raw email.

I hope you accomplish what you've set out to do.

It is extremely difficult now to get pesonnel info from Internet companies like Comcast, Cablevision or any IP provider unless you have a court order and a very good reason that a major crime was committed..

This IP is not from an email. This IP is from one of his fake credit card applications that was provided to me by the bank involved.
