    coaching vs talent
if you have a total of 15 points you can use, and the highest rating your coaching or talent level can be is 10, how do you break up your points?

10 = one of the top 2-4 coaches in the nation
1 = one of worst coaches in the country

you can designate up to 10 points for your coaching, and up to 10 points for your talent, but the total b/w the two cant surpass 15 points. if you want the best coach (10), then that leaves your team with a talent level of 5.

easier to follow? i just want to see what some of the minds here think is the best forumla for success.

x's and o's more important than the billy's and the joe's? as one wise man asked.

oh shtttt mo I have now seen the light. this might not be something to answer intelligently at 2:52 A.M. but I am going to say .....

8 for coaches, and 7 for players. so you can do something like have a pretty good coach ranked as say 6 out of 10, that has a good knowledge, old school style, good fundamentals and then you get maybe a new assistant or modern coach, that to society might be ranked say 2 out of 10 as he doesnt have experience and so nobody can determine how successful his techniques are. and a young guy might be able to also bridge that gap with players and old style coach, but still be able to maybe pick up or bring an addition to something old style coach doesnt see. is this making sense?

then you got 7 points for players, need a point guard as without that nobody gets the rock and throw in some decent but teachable forwards and some big 6'11 center to throw his hands up to block shots and do the occasion jump hook and your good to go.

what do you think or did I answer this wrong? haha

i dont see too many title winners that arent loaded with talent. take gary williams...he was considered one of the top few coaches in the nation with baxter, dixon, wilcox, and blake. now? then again, if talent levels are close, then it comes down to coaching, i wouldnt want some bum keeping my team in a zone all day if it was getting killed. you've got to have some brains. mine would end up almost exactly where yours was.

I understand what some of you are saying, but what about the "talent alone doesnt win it" I mean if you put way to much in talent, 2/3 not sure if that will get you anywhere if dont have a coaching staff to get the players to buy in to working together. does that make sense?
