If you really need athletic ability you can add in the 3 mile cross country hike from the car to the river, wading waste deep in fast moving water for 5 hrs while covering another 2 or 3 miles and then the hike back to the car. Of course there is the obvious work-out your elbow and forearm get lifting those beers to your lips .

Fishing is definitely a sport. It does take strength and endurance. It takes a lot of technique and skill. Fisherman have to make so many adjustments due to so many different variables. I dont fish as much as I used to, but when I go out with friends who still fish alot, they ussually show me up on the lake...

Great thread, is definitely a fun one to read!

I haven't fished in a few months. Too hot here in SoCal unless you do it really early in the morning, and I don't get up early.

So has anyone caught anything over the week-end?? We fishers could keep this thread going forever you know.

Personally I'm chillin' tonite, getting up at 4 AM, riding my bike 5 km. to my "catfish pot." And then catfishing.

that's quite a haul dude, nice job....we've caught some big dorado and wahoo and a tuna....we've done light water deep sea fishing as well and caught all types of weird stuff, some 5' long needle fish and such, was pretty cool. also have done salmon fishing in alaska, that was pretty cool, caught a MONSTER pinkie but didn't mount it. my fishing dream though is to catch a 1000lb+ blue marlin though and get that bad boy mounted

Nice Tony. I'm not familiar with salt water fishing, as I live 1600 miles from the nearest ocean. I wouldn't mind giving it a go though. Headed out Monday to fish Pike, Bass and Channel Cats near here in So. Ontario. Should be good, but I really need to go fling a fly for specks before the end of the season.

Changed my mind and went fishing this morn after my last post. The channel cats were on today, 18 in 7 hrs. 3-10 lbs. I had to come home for football though. Added bonus, another bowfin, 15 lbs. I was glad I had a net with me.

I like to fish atleast once a week. I live on the southern Chesapeake Bay and we can fish nearly all year round....it rarely gets to cold to be on the water and you can load up on some many different species it never get boring!!

                            I love to fish...MAY'N!!
Fishing is not a sport, it is something you do while drinking beer and driving slowly in your boat. That's what fishing is.

I have to agree that "Cornhole Championship'" doesn't sound all that good, you didn't mean Kornheiser did you, Tony?
Sorry to hear that Igor and others are fukking you up on the east coast for fishing. Our season here is winding down, but right now we have rainbow and brown trout as well as chinook salmon in the Great Lake tributaries. I target the trout over the salmon as the salmon are decaying and dieing by this time of year. Got 6 nice rainbows 2-12 lbs last week-end, man they jump when the water gets cold. GL to you this week-end, and to me too.
