What would she be joining for? If she's mainly going to hang out in the sports subforums then she should have no problem. As long as she can talk bets and sports in there she'll be fine. If she's only going to spend her time in PT, well... that's another story. Not sure why she'd even want to join if that's the case but if she did, she will most likely get hassled somewhat. All the females do to a certain degree and I can't see her being an exception. I guess it just depends on her reasons for joining and whether or not she could handle a little grief thrown her way.

I Googled him re: Super Bowl bcuz I heard he had picked 17 winners in a streak, was trying to determine if he was on The Saints....and I found this place. Football is the only sport I am very passionate about. I bookmarked SBRforum.com, have read it a few times over the ensuing months, now I have registered and this is my first post.

What I have noticed about this place is that there needs to be more females interacting within the community but yes, as you alude to, Trolls discourage girls from being here (or on the internet altogether, thus do we sometimes hear Trolls declare that their are "no girls on the internet"....self fulfilling prophecy, kinda...where they are concerned...bcuz of their actions towards girls). Trolls referring to people who exist in isolation so are needful of response, any sort of interaction...angry jealous souls who act upon Evil Thought so know great pain. Maybe your companion can deal with such though, if you prepare her properly in advance of it. Let her know of course that most of it won't be adversarial, will be the opposite (fun) that she should ignore those who try and draw her into conflict (ignore negative people) and maybe she can deal....

Most females are too sensitive though, to accomplish this.

Maybe she could get to where she would not let it affect her though. Steel her for the adventure, she would grow from the experience of being a part of the community and would be a unique part of it bcuz because she is less jaded, not awash in Cynicism as many are, as I mentioned this place needs a LOT more girls typing posts and she will find a few friends.

What I hear from you in your post though is that you want to show your girl the ropes but want these ropes to be absent of adversity, hostility and that is unrealistic...precisely as it is supposed to be as all Life is suffering, thats just the way it is. Did you make this post to change the ropes? Make them to become devoid of unpleasantness, hostility? To see if people would agree to go easy on her? Look out for her? If so, yes, many will agree to be on her side against the cruelty that comprises part of the ropes, agree to rise to her defense against the Trolls but to make the ropes suddenly clear, free of unpleasantness is not going to be accomplished anymore than were you to try and make the road free of obstacles for a daughter venturing out of the driveway behind the wheel of your car for the very first time on her own or where you to try somehow to remove all Danger from the world that your 18 year old was venturing into....

The important thing is that she be prepared, by yourself (as part of your showing to her the ropes), for what ALL deal with in forums of the internet...the inevitable hateful messages from Trolls, insecure lonely persons of low self esteem. These cannot be avoided, she is far far far too beautiful, such will be directed at her. The ugly, they will lash out (of course were they to do the opposite, embrace & welcome beauty, they'd become less ugly but most won't) so, just, yes...show her the ropes but make her ready, she can handle it even have fun with it and were she to join the community this would expand both our own "canvases" and hers.
