Doing jury duty

Usually ends up being a waste of a day. I've been to it twice - once got put on a case and once where I didn't.

you mean you didn't get the option to postpone it for a year. they usually give you that option. your only way out is to say that if a defendant is foreign he's guilty without exception. if he's american he's not guilty without exception. this will get you out of it.

I've been to it once as well. Had to wait till 5pm to be let go.

I just remember it being a horrible day and not wanting to do it ever again.

I'd rather pay $500 to get out of it.

Why me? Some people never get called and I've gotten called twice in my life. The amount of boredom that you experience is unbelievable.

Not only that but coincidentally I had the day off tomorrow and was looking forward to sleeping in and watch the games later on.

Now I gotta wake up early and spend all day in a room full of people while some shit movie plays in their tvs.

Got mine set for the 20th, last time called the night before and recording said I didn't have to go in. Fingers crossed.

First time I got it, I had to call and say I had car trouble because I really did so they rescheduled it. Got lucky and had to sit for 45 minutes and the case I would have been on was settled.

Just get it over with....if you try to blow it off they'll get ya. Get yourself thrown off the jury by making a comment like "I think anything above a parking ticket deserves the Death Penalty"....that surely will eliminate you

I'm here and let me tell you something I came at 8am and they tell us we gotta wait till 1pm before the process of selection starts.

That's fives hours of nothing right there. Complete BS.

For the people saying to tell them I'm racist or crazy, it ain't that easy. You still have to wait for the selection to start to tell them any of that. So you'd have to wait 5 hours before you can tell them you're nuts. You don't just walk in there first thing in the morning and start giving excuses.

This whole thing sucks. Don't wish it on anyone.

all you gotta do is say a few crazy things and you will be off the jury. I guess it would be kind of cool to be on a jury for a major newsworthy case but not just some joe blow.

can you call them back and sound like an idiot/crazy then and maybe they will just tell you to not bother showing up??
