    101mph???

Why? We have all seen this before. Its not our first rodeo here.

Joel Zumaya tosses 103mph. Verlander in his no hit tossed 101mph in the 8th???

*103, you don't see that everyday, and to think he can even get it above that...

Lets see him toss that high. Guy didn't get over 100 last night.

105 mph is very good. Impossible to hit.

Hit 102.7 last night, and like you said before, his slider is nasty. If you can throw fastballs for strikes at 100 mph, just think about the difference when you're seeing a slider coming in at 85 and moving....tough for batters to stay focused.

If I recall correctly, every fastball he threw was either 100 or above, with exception to his first pitch which was only 98.

No it certainly isn;t the first time here, but Chapman certainly has the stuff, his fastball is legit at 100 and his slider is devasting, both of these were conformed last night.

The caveat, as always is control, Zumaya never figured out how to throw strikes- Chapmans move the pen seemed to make quite a difference for him -

In the Pen his BB/9 dropped below 4, if he can maintain that and it turns out that its not just variation he's for real, if he reverts and can keep his control then he'll fall into the pack of hard tossing what-if's
