I miss the nomination button

I feel like I'm missing out on high quality and/or hilarious posts now that this feature is gone. I would always make a point of reading the nominated posts - maybe I was one of the few who did this?! - and would visit the thread from which it came.

Sometimes I'd even get lucky and someone would nominate an oldie but a goodie that I'd most likely never stumble across otherwise. Especially from the ThinkTank.

I understand the feature's gone for good but maybe at some point in the future the Mods can look at introducing something comparable? Posters giving points to each other to show appreciation for a good post is always great as that also helps to encourage each other to not flood the board with garbage but it's just not the same.

I've realised that several of the long-term posters who prefer to operate in stealth-mode and quietly go about their business utilised this feature quite a bit. It was always great to see them randomly pop up and nominate a post without them having to post a one-word reply or shell out points. It was a good signal to give the post more credence when they stamped it with their approval - especially when it came to the more serious gambling topics.

Pavy, maybe you can use your Mod powers this weekend and stage a coup?

It is not surprising since a large portion of the things there were created by/mocking you. It was good entertainment for the forum nonetheless and you should be pulling for increased traffic any way you can right JJ?

I am in full agreement. Why was this feature removed? Really gave posters the oppurtunity to give credence to a post that they thought exceptional and considered deserving of a nomination. It also like Shari91 stated gave posters to see a post they may have otherwise not of come across.

The reason given was that posters tend to give each other points when they like a post. Maybe the Mods felt the feature became redundant because of that?

I'm guessing that it was under utilized so they got rid of it. I don't see why though. Wasn't like it was hurting anything. If everything was getting nominated then I could see it becoming a problem.
