Gruden is very knowledgable. I prefer that more than some of the other loud mouths they have on there.

I respect him for the fact that he brought my Bucs a title...but outside of that..his commentating can be lacking.

I actually like him. He's different than the usual bland announcers. He tells you how it is. There is a lot worse than him out there. I can't stand Phil Simms...When it's a game he's calling I have to watch it on mute. He's unbearable

John Gruden was trained by Chuck Norris. John and chuck could take out a army of 40 with just dental floss.

I think Gruden is one of the best in the booth.
Also, I agree with the post above about Simms - can't take him. Every time he says something he says "Jim" , talking directly to Jim Nantz and letting us eavesdrop. There should be a pool or an O/U line on how many times he says "jim" in a game. very annoying.

What are you smoking? He never had a losing record with the Raiders and they haven't had winning record since he left. Plus, is it possible to destroy the Raiders?
Ummmm, he won a Super Bowl in his few seasons with the Bucs right?
Plus, he brings football knowledge to the booth instead of rhetoric and bullshit.
Ignorance is bliss I guess.

You couldn't possibly be any more wrong. You could try, but you would not be successful.
Gruden, who's been coaching with Carrollwood Day School in Tampa (his son is on the team), went off in the first quarter of the team's Sept. 3 season opener. He exploded at the officials, grabbed a 15-yard penalty for his trouble, and simply left the field for the rest of the game. He wound up in the stands, where he continued to berate the refs (calling them "Forrest Gump" among other things, according to a former high school official who was watching his own son playing for the other team).
looks like we were right
