I tip $5 for machine car wash and $10 for hand wash. Car is in pretty good shape.

I take mine through a touchless wash. There is no attendant to tip. You get your ticket at the pump.

I dont pay for car washes, but i washed my great aunts last week & she gave me $35. I washed my grandmothers Sunday & she gave me $35!

I never asked for any money & tried my best to refuse it, but it seems that $35 is the going rate to have a relative wash your car, vacuum it out, windex the windows, clean the whitewalls & dress the tires, wipe down the dash, & spray something to get that "old people" smell out

I'm 39. I take the minivan to the car wash because the kids make it a disaster area. There is all kinds of liquid and food stains on the seats and mats. I don't have the heavy duty stuff home to clean it myself. So I always tip the car wash workers. Oh and while the car is washed I cap games and place bets because I'm a professional gambler and don't have time to wasH the car by myself.

3-5 bucks max. You guys must be high rollers to be giving such high Tips. If were talking a detail job with a wax I'll give 20 bucks but your standard hand carwash is worth 5 bucks.

At my car wash the machine wash has other stuff. First they vacuum the car, then they spray the wheels before they place it in the machine. When they get it out of the mashine they dry all the wet spots by hand and clean the windows from the inside, the dashboard and the bumpers. So even in the machine wash there is lots of manual work that is done by several people.
