There is clearly much more to Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino than those
famously sculpted abs.
As MTV's Jersey Shore sizzles into its second season, the star best known for
undertaking GTL (gym, tanning, laundry) is set to make more then $5m (£3.2m) this year.
This amount could even double in 2011, according to the respected Hollywood trade magazine The Hollywood Reporter.
Fiscally Hard: The Situation is also showing a firm grasp on finances, looking to make 3.2 million pounds by year's end
The loud and proud Sorrentino, 29, is praised in the publication for his 'biz
savvy' which is spawning a series of endorsement deals, business opportunities
and additional television offers based on the wild success of Jersey Shore.
There is even talk of an autobiography (apparently with words) called 'Here's
the Situation' which has earned Sorrentino a six-figure book advance.
The star is also earning nearly $60,000 per episode after bonus
incentives, while earning up to $50,000 for celebrity appearance fees.
Alongside the usual celebrity supply of endorsements (Vitamin Water, Reebok),
there is a 'GTL' app and a rap song on iTunes.
As if all that weren't enought, Sorrentino's manager claims the star might appear on the big screen as he is in talk with various Hollywood production companies.

Not bad for a guy who was working as the manager of a Staten Island fitness
centre before his big break: a job which pulled in $35,000 a year.
'People told him to enjoy his 15 minutes of fame and that he wouldn't last,' his
manager Mike Petolino told the paper. 'I think we can agree he's extended it to
at least 17.'
Looks like a good situation. Oh, and that term 'Situation?' It's been trademarked along
with other terms the Situation has coined on the show.
Rest assured, the Situation's other cast members are fully loaded: on carbs. The group stole out to a Seaside Heights Italian eatery, Rivoli's, for several large helpings of pasta (along with an entire case of Diet Coke) and brought them back to the Jersey Shore house.
