Every new year me and the family get together and always watch those count down performance shows to bring in the new year. This year we were doing the usual ones on FOX and CNN when I noticed that there were some funny mess ups caught live. I was wondering if anyone else caught these as well...
The Fox show that had the english woman version of Yao Ming as the host, I seriously don't know her name because I can never understand it. She was in times square and sent the camera man out to the street with a interviewer asking people in the crowd what their new years resolution would be. He asked a couple people and got normal responses then he went and asked a kid that was about 14 or 15 wearing a backwards baseball cap with his arm around a girl about the same age. He said whats your new years resolution, the kid replied, to stop gambling on the lottery... The host started to laugh and tried to ignore what he just said and moved on to the girl standing next to him who looked like she was no more then 15, he asked , and whats your new years resolution... She replied, To stop smoking. Again he was shocked and asked her how much she smoked a day, she said about 1-2 packs. Quickly it went back to the tall chick hosting the show and then to commercial. Im about 90% sure those kids were telling the truth because of the way he reacted and the way they looked. Considering the number of people watching the show, Fox looked pretty stupid.
Flipping through to the CNN one they had Anderson Cooper hosting the New Years show with Cathy Lee Griffin. This was the one time CNN was laid back and not uptight about telling news and were having fun, but Cathy Lee took it pretty far and again I was shocked to see it on TV. First she said her nutsack was freezing on air followed by calling a group of people bastards again live on TV. Then she asked Anderson Cooper what politician he would like to waterboard (pour water in someones face over and over until they give information, stuff you see in all those crime shows). Anderson calmly flipped out saying she took it too far and crossed the line. As they went to break you could hear him say, Im never doing this again. Fox is used to screwing up and looking bad but all this coming from CNN made me laugh as their rep went down in alot of peoples books.
Did anyone else see these events happen on TV or does no one even watch these and its just a family thing lol.
BTW, for the past 4 years at midnight I place a $100 bet on Red playing roulette. All of the previous 4 years it came up black and this New Years it came it Red which means we are all going to kick ass this year. Happy New Year to everyone and remember to strectch before watching 11 hours of football tomorrow, and don't spend your winnings in one place!
