Not sure if they have the money to build the mosque. I read the other day that they haven't raised any funds for the project yet and with the way banks lend money these days I doubt they will approve a loan for a controversial project of this magnitude. Because once the bank who funds it is identified it will be bad publicity for them.Comment -

o i dont know, maybe because a group of crazy fucks in the name of ISLAM flew a couple planes into some buildings less than 10 years ago. The fact of the matter is, people in that city do not want it, therefore it should not be there. It is called a healing process, it might sound cheesy but it is true.
It is has nothing to do with freedom of religion. There is already a mosque by ground zero called masjidmanhattan and they are doing everything they can to distant themselves from this new mosque, check out the disclaimer on their site. Also, notice how they use masjid to describe themselves, not mosque.
