I remember the local numbers runner in my neighborhood would let the people gamble their food stamps on the day number, LOL. (Back then there was no credit card, it was dollar denominations). He also used to pay 60 cents on the dollar for cash. A $100 worth of food stamps for $60 cash was a sweet deal back then.

Funding gets cut for programs that help the poor and less fortunate that are in dire need all the time. Yet we all know that if AIG ever had a chance to fk up again, no doubt- they would be bailed out again.

And I've actually told panhandlers that I'd buy them a meal instead and had them refuse it. So, there is certainly some truth to what EI said.
