Need help with a creature in my yard

I can't sleep with the noise. There is this creature that makes the noise of a referee's whistle in 4 consecutive whistles. It's been going on for the last 2 hours. How do I get rid of this creature?

Sounds like a cicada and there isnt a good way to get rid of them, they pretty much hang out in trees so if you could get rid of all the tress around, you might get them to go away. In Missouri it's just part of summer, I clean about 20 of there shells out of my pool everyday.

I played the sound. It's not a cicada. This thing makes the noise of a basketball referee's whistle but in 4 consecutive whistles. Then it stops for 1 min and starts all over again.

Yes, but if he lives there why would this be the first time hearing it? Those are common there, too common to not have heard one before.
