Who retires first? Easy answer would be rivera but still going strong.

My guess is Posada will be ran out of town. Guy hasn't done much as of late.

Without rivera yankees have one maybe two championships. Guy has been mvp of team for last 15 years.

Posada will primarily DH next year and maybe catch 75 games. He has 1 year left on his contract. Cant see the Yankees bringing him back in 2012 unless its as a DH only and he better have a decent year next year. The yanks have two really good catchers in the system and 1 of them should make the jump next year.

Rivera and Jeter are both in the last year of their deals. Rivera having another great year and will probably get at least a 2 maybe 3 year deal. Jeter will get a 4 year deal even though he is having an off year.

Posada will be the first to go

Agree that Posada will be the first to go. Mo is throwing well & as cruel as the empire can be, they have to let Jeter leave on his own terms. Good thread man. Start one about how they didn't buy anymore talent than the Redsox. Bernie, Jeter, Posada, Pettite, Alphonso/Cano, lots of other starting pitching. The core is from exceptional development in the system much like the Braves did for years.

posada imo, catchers tend to wear down faster then other position players and he seems to be showing signs of that.
