    Jim Leyritz DUI, kills passenger
Former major league baseball player Jim Leyritz has been arrested in Broward County, Fla. and charged with drunken driving and vehicular homicide. The passenger in the car that Leyritz struck was ejected from the car and was ruled dead at the scene. It was Leyritz's 44th birthday on Thursday he refused to take a Breathalyzer test

It's amazing this does happen to more celebrities. How many are busted for DUI (Kiefer Sutherland recently). If they kill someone, their careers and life are just about over in a split second.

Let's keep focusing on stopping gambling instead of this type of issue.

Oh yeah, if they kill someone, their career + life is over.

What about the person they killed? Their family? Don't they matter?

Leyritz deserves whatever the harshest penalty is. DUI should be an unforgivable mistake. You drink, get a ****ing cab -- and Leyritz has no excuse because he has plenty of money. Don't put other's lives at risk.

He won't get much. For whatever reason, when you drink and drive, or drink and drive and kill someone, the juries or judges are lenient.

Seriously, if you want to kill someone, have drinks first and then kill them in a car wreck.

          Yeah, it's total bullshit.

I hate hearing stories of people having, like, 20+ DUI's. How the hell are they still on the road, let alone out of prison?

Leyritz' punishment won't be nearly as bad as it should be. His name will probably shave a few years off the sentence, too.

Didnt Leonard Little kill someone in a DUI case? And did he didnt get any significant jail time did he? What a sick bastard and then I think he got another DUI or something if I remember correctly. Im not 100% sure on that but I think that is what happened.... They let off Drunk Drivers way to easy when they kill someone. I know they didnt intend to kill another person but they have to be held accountable for their actions

IF you drink and drive and kill someone, it should be murder, not manslaughter. Lock him up for life as far as I'm concerned.

I'm with you. It's not for the individual so much as to serve as a future deterrant

Yes, I just failed to state the obvious. Both sides are destroyed by drunk drivers. Still amazed more people aren't killed when you see the number of arrests before anything happens.
