KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Tennessee sophomore guard J.P. Prince has been named Southeastern Conference Player of the Week after leading the 12th-ranked Volunteers to wins over UNC Asheville and at No. 24 Xavier last week.
The Memphis native posted a career-high 13 points against UNC Asheville. He topped that mark with 23 points against Xavier. Prince averaged 18 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds in Tennessee's two games last week.
for those that dont know, JP Prince was a 5 star pg recruit that committed to AZ in 2005. unhappy out west, he transfered back home to Tennessee where he just became eligibile to join the team. hes 6-7 pg that will be a huge addition to the vols either coming off the bench or in the starting lineup for the rest of the season. this team is deep.
