ND is currently #1 and Bamas recruiting class is currently #2. Kinda surprising, but this is a great year for instate talent in bama.
Despite Shaky seasons, ND and Bama are bringing in top classes

#2Surprising? Not at all. ND was left with a gaping hole on the offensive line by the terrible, lazy recruiting of Ty Willingham. You cannot win in college football without any experience on the OL. ND's performance this year was not indicative of the caliber coaches Weis+Staff are. On top of that, they are all top notch recruiters.
The recruits that ND goes after aren't stupid. They knew that this would be a rough year on the field for ND.
The recruits Alabama goes after, however, are laughable when it comes to IQ. Just like every other SEC school, they recruit athletes first, and the student part isn't even considered. Now that isn't to say that all SEC recruits are dumb as a doornail, but a good number are, and a lot end up not qualifying by NCAA standards, and go on to JUCO's (where they take coursework easier than what they were used to in high school, pad their GPA's, and go back to the SEC/Pac 10/Big12 qualified and ready to go)Comment -

thats is one of the largest loads of nonsense ive ever heard. you think navy got better recruits than ND? no coach in the history of that school has ever been that bad.
thats entirely on the coaching staff. i realize that nd should recruit well, but to have the #1 class right now is a bit surprising. they lost some big names on signing day last year, i hope it happens again. its interesting that their #1 recruit is a QB seeing as god claussen is a true fresh.
then you go on to say what about the kids at bama, when is comes to IQ? which of these commits have you met? you think ND would turn down jones, scott, love, or murphy if they wanted to commit? the #1 wr in the nation is likely headed to bama as well, you think ND wouldnt take the kid?
