question for the forum about air conditioning

problem is this. My thermostat keeps saying no ac power....then after a couple minutes it kicks on and runs for about 20 minutes. then it abruptly stops again and says no ac power. Every time it says no ac power and i go into the closet to the unit I pull the top off of the pvc pipe that has the electrical wire in it and it cuts back on.

its hot as balls down here and feels like a sauna outside and my house wont cool to lower than 78

It sounds like you have a shortage you should have an electrician come out .I feel bad for ya my house feels like the morgue @a constant 55 degrees.

probably need a new thermostat. Most are pieces of junk and break down quickly. I can give you a definite answer tomorrow after i talk to papadopolus.

Yes it sounds like a shortage I wouldent waste time trying to get that electrical fires start fast and spread quick.

hey.........you probably don't, but if you will be needing a new unit, Florida is about to have cash for clunkers central a/c units. Couple that with the Federal credit and one possible from your electrical supplier (FPL?) should pay for half of the unit. GL
