Although I may not believe these kinds of alternate theory kinds of documentaries, I do find them very interesting as I try to be a free thinker. This is the most down to Earth and believable documentary I've found on this subject so far: does not include Apocalyptic scenarios, angels, aliens, reptilian beings or other pseudo-scientific theories.
There are about 30 parts to it, divided into 6 or 7 episodes. It's not suggested to watch the whole thing at once as it may get a bit repetitive and confusing.

7. Pagan gods
