OT: Calling Willie Bee to a debate
This post really bothered me and I can't shake the feeling of shock I felt after reading it. To start this debate, I want you to comment on three things:

On September 19, 2007, the Senate voted on a cloture motion for including the Habeas Corpus Restoration Act as an amendment to the FY 2008 Defense Department Authorization bill. The final vote was 56-43, just four votes short of overriding the Republican filibuster. Every Democrat voted for the bill as well as six Republicans.
Willie Bee, this bill being voted down means that our senate is not following the constitution. There's no doubt about this. The Constitution is explicit that habeas corpus may not be suspended except in time of invasion or rebellion, and we do not have either of those circumstances present, as was conceded by the advocates of the legislation last year to take away the right of habeas corpus.
This is proof positive that we have a government that is not following the constitution. WE currently have a lawless government that is showing blatant disregard for human rights. How can you pretend that everything is OK?
