Why is MLB not paying young players top dollar?
I see some of the money young players make like Heyward and Hanson of the Braves and it doesn't make any sense. They only make less than $500,000 for playing 162 games?

The NBA, NFL and soccer premier league teams pay new players many millions in salaries when they first start. Bradford, Lebron, Messi, Ronaldo, etc

Why does baseball not pay top dollar for young talent?

It simply the way baseball contracts work; All drafted players are signed to 'minor league deal' players salaries are then set untill they accrue 3 years of major league service time (with some exceptions).
