Geesh,everytime you turn on the tv there is a COPS style show featuring all the nasty stuff going on in Vegas.Tent cities full of violent stealing crack addicts the other night.Has anyone ever seen the women of the Las Vegas jailhouse?Does a person visiting Vegas feel like you are back in the wild west walking the streets of Laredo or Dodge City?Or maybe being in the thickest jungle in Africa without a gun or a knife.You would think that mayor Oscar Goodman would tell all these tv production companies to lay off Vegas and go somewhere else to feature mayhem and destruction.
There is a movie with Lou Diamond Phillips called El Cortez about the Vegas hotel.There is about a 30 yard dead zone between downtown and the El Cortez and that gets a person edgy walking through it.God forbid a person has to walk to The Western hotel&casino which is 3 blocks east of downtown on Fremont Street.Anyone ever stay at the Western?Anyone with scary or funny stories about being at The Gold Spike?It was bad enought with The Lady Luck in that area giving light,cover and activity but with it being closed,it's even scarier.
