Adam Yauch aka MCA from the Beastie Boys died today at the age of 47. Here's a great song from one of the most underrated albums of the 80's(Paul's Boutique). Brock might not like this... but hell...even Anthrax covered this song. R.I.P. Adam.

Chucky... I know I'm not Brock but I used to love Jane's Addiction. I used to like Porno for Pyro's as well but I liked Jane's Addiction a lot more. I still think Jane's Addiction doesn't get as much credit as they deserve when it comes to the evolution of rock music in the late 80's and early 90's. Back in the late 1980's I can't think of any other band that had a sound like them. I really think that they had a huge influence on the bands that would later come.

Speaking of tight... how tight is this Brock?

To gauchojake... that's a great song man. I posted the '59 Sound by Gaslight earlier in this thread. Gaslight is currently on tour with Hot Water Music. If you're not familiar with Hot Water Music... I've posted a dozen or so of their songs in this thread. I love those guys.

I missed that post but love that song. Got tix to the show in Anaheim originally to see Rise Against but I'm kinda looking forward to seeing gaslight and hwm

Got to agree.. They deserve the credit that a lot of bands get for killing glam/hair metal. You could argue for Faith No More.

Credit usually goes to 'Nevermind', which is bullshit cuz we were already listening to 'Bleach' and Soundgarden's 'Louder than love'.

I prefer P4P. Love Perry's creativity. He has me hooked on the unique sound. Jane's was too rough-edge for me.

I love Soundgarden, btw. Chris Cornell's voice is top-notch.

Brock didn't see any CCR, Danzig, or Dio love. As far as 90's I really enjoyed the Mad season CD, but Staley died way to young.

Layne Staley gets WAY too few mentions...kurt Cobain was like GOD, but Staley was just as good. Both are dead. Very much a shame
