Would you let your ex wife keep your name?
I have a friend who is going through a divorce and he is pissed as high jesus that she is going to keep his last name. I dont know what her reasoning is behind it, but he is not happy at all. I guess I could understand if they had kids... maybe... But I think my friend might go postal, seriously, he works at a post office.

How would you feel if you split with your wife and she kept your last name?

She can keep my name as long she doesn't keep my house, car, motorcycle, boat and money.

My soon to be ex is keeping my name. If we didn't have kids I'd be pissed.

She would take half of all of that anyway. But then to add insult to injury she keeps your name.

            Common practice, I thought.

Most females now do keep the last name. An ex gf's parents divorced and she was a teacher, so it was so much trouble for her to go back to her maiden name. But like i said i think most keep the last name because theyve had it for so long and gotten used to it.

...and it's a hassle to change it back, I would think (credit cards, license, S.S. Card, etc)

You don't have any say in it.

And it makes sense to keep any kind of credit rating both of you have attained.
Getting credit under a new name is a pain for divorced women

What if she ruined your credit because she was a spending whore? Can a man change his name after divorce to get new credit or is he ****** up for life?
