A buddy and I were talking about this same subject this past weekend. Several factors contribute to the memory retention of the chick's name:
1. Was this a random hook-up with a chick at a bar or party, or is she somehow connected to your regular group (friend of a friend's sister)?
2. Did you keep her phone number for a future hook-up.
3. Did you beer goggle and take home a 2? I would probably make it a point to remember a 9 or a 10.
4. Did she have any interesting tats or other features that cause you to remember her name?
