She always has goth vamp avators and has a dark mysterious edge about her.She says she's from Thunder Bay,Ontario but I live fairly close to TB and some things don't seem to jive?Is she a counterfeit Canuck?Ghost?babe?guy? She brings up libertarian topics which I like.

I can determine in 2 minutes if Emily is really from Thunder Bay if he/she answers a few of my non-Googleable questions.

Shari, are you from Thunder Bay?I was just up there 2 weeks ago.Nice place to visit in the summer.Do you know a guy by the name of Don Saccino that was the biggest roids peddler in Canada that owned a vitamin supplement place called Pompei something selling to NHL&CFL guys?He went to the big house and now owns an Italian market.Just wondering if he's keeping his nose clean these days? What a character that would be another JJ if he joined SBR forum. He told outrageous stories constantly about the big capers he was pulling off and I never believed him.I guess he was telling the truth. The last time I saw him we hit the shaker joints in TB and he got into a regular John Wayne movie slugfest with bikers and got slashed with a broken bottle where I had to haul him to hospital.Did he ever achieve his goal of bing the Tony Saprano of Thunder Bay starting 33 years ago since I knew him?hehe!

A couple hours away to Thunder Bay and it's like entering another world.

I know Sacinos but I honestly don't remember a Don. You're right though - it's an awesome place to be in the summer but the winters are beyond unbearable. It's such a weird place to me after living elsewhere for so long but there's still something somewhat charming about it.

How long ago was this? When I was living there I'm pretty sure LU didn't even have a football team and sports scholarships were definitely against government rules. Unless you were getting an academic scholarship of some sort.

There is nothing charming about it being dark at 9 am in October, Mind you being still daylight after 11 pm in the summer is sweet.

I hate to break the news to you but their football team is so not so good they don't even have one, and never have to the best of my recollection.

Try this http://english.cis-sic.ca/sports/fba...standings-conf link to see all the Canadian universities with football teams.....

last year, and i was given a academic scholarship (had a 79% average, decent enough but unheard of getting a free ride with it) ....

I was seriously baffled at the thought of LU having a football team. Not that it's completely out of the realm of possibility I guess since I don't live there anymore but it's hard enough for them to sustain the few somewhat decent teams they already have because of travel costs. Plus I look at the local paper at least every second day and don't recall any mention of a football team at all.

Another sbr'r shari spouting off at the mouth without knowing enough to think that people here might be able to poke holes in his story. I went to Queen's (where there is a football team) and follow CIS football and even bet on that.

Yeah, not sure why someone would bother to lie about that when I made it pretty clear that I'm from there and there are obviously other Canadians on the site. I didn't bother checking on the football team because I was admittedly too lazy and was willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they'd started one in the past year or 2 and I'd just missed it altogether but even his description of LU itself seemed off when he mentioned 70/30 men to women. One of the running jokes on campus was always how there weren't enough men to go around. And sure enough - 2008/2009 enrollment was 58% women, 42% men.

They could do a crime series tv show on this Don Sacino guy.He was a nice and generous guy,the life of any party that would make people refuse to pay for anything. He was a heavyweight that did real well in golden gloves boxing. He had connections all over tarnation and was always stopping at my place in Minnesota on his way to Kansas City. The only illegal activity I ever did was trade in minor fireworks a bit buying them in the Dakota's and re-selling them in Minnesota.I was a babe in the woods and I started getting scared I would be on a known associates list hanging out with Don or else become an accomplice to something.I just Googled Don Sacino for the first time in years and found lots of stuff on him. Just one sample was the first thing I opened and here's the link www.mapinc.org/safe/v05/n1948/a08.html

That link didn't work for me but I'm going to try to find out now if he's related to a Sacino I was somewhat close to at one point. For some reason, I'm starting to think this may be his brother or cousin.

I didn't have much choice where I was born but got out as soon as I could.

Did you do that???? How awesome is it? Renting one tube for each person and then another for the beer. That was actually a seriously good time although I'm not sure if they still let you do the beer thing anymore. Man, I haven't done that in over 10 years.

I"ve done it many time. You have to keep beer very low profile (at least been 4 years ago since I've done it). More and more OPP are out keeping an eye on things and beer is a no no. Then there's always Kakabeka Falls while they call it the Niagara of the north I didn't find it that impressive, I love being out and hiking up there.

I've made the drive from Toronto to T bay way to many times..... while I love having a vehicle up there I really despise the drive.

Makes sense that they've cracked down on the beer. Mixing alcohol with spending a hot day in the water (hot by T Bay standards at least) doesn't always end well, especially in T Bay. But yeah, I can see how the hiking would be a draw. Amazing places to explore up there and I was even really getting into ice climbing before I left although I basically crapped myself each time.

Wow, now I'm actually starting to get homesick. Usually I just get North America sick but there are some great qualities about the place when you're not stuck living there full-time. Even rinky-dink Kakabeka Falls, Sibley and Mt McKay.

Yeah, Sibley is the provincial park at the Sleeping Giant. Mt McKay is in Fort William. The Indian reservations are located pretty much at the base of it and you'd pass the mountain if you were heading out to score cheap gas or smokes, or visiting Chippewa Park. There's nothing spectacular about it really. Basically at the end of your drive up you can lookout over the entire city. There is (was?) a yearly Indian festival up there and there's a cross that glows in the dark that you can see from quite far away on a clear night. But usually kids would just go up there to drink and smoke up.

It's 7:30 on Monday night here so I'm looking at tennis. What are YOU doing up so early?
