Nerd Help - Setting up TV as second monitor
Have a TV that is too small to be used as a TV, and would be a pretty big monitor (22" I believe).

Trying to set it up with a mac. The mini display port to HDMI adapters Apple sells are only 2 fukkin inches long so would need an extension (just like jjgold). What are some good options here:

    - get an HDMI to HDMI extension
    - use the S-video or VGA TV inputs
    - apparently some can be 'connected' wirelessly?

HDMI to HDMI and the VGA inputs can provide the same resolution. You might get a slightly better picture with HDMI because some VGA connections and cables produce more noise which is sometimes noticeable on a big HDTV, but should be fine on the 22". Don't use the S-video, because it can't give you the same quality of the other two options.

don't buy any cable without checking here and here first. i prefer firefold, but mainly cause they are a state away so shipping is almost always next day.

are you saying that a non HD cable can produce the same resolution that a fully HD cable can?

You can only view one monitor at a time Mathy

                No need for two
