Vegas in the 80's and even 90's was coupon haven.There was never any need or sense to play an even money hand of anything when match plays of every denomination were everywhere.You sort of timed your stay at a casino as to not make yourself known as a coupon abuser by showing up again after shift changes.You hate to make a nuisance just playing one hand at a packed table.They call you a drive by but what the hell,you will never see these people again.hehe!You ever notice how blackjack players never feel they get a lucky shoe by having some bad card playing match play user take a hit when they shouldn't have?It's always the guy with the coupon that took a bad hit jinxed me. You could start at the Sahara and work your way all the way down the strip and back on the other side playing coupons.I was one of these guys in the 80's that depended on doing this so by the time I got back home I got a free trip out of the deal.It was fun as all hell and you brought back a box of glittery crap you got as promotions too to give as gifts.I wish I had some of it now that I gave away because defunct casino crap on E-bay fetches decent $$$.There is a guy named Anthony Curtiss that you see on all the Travel Channel tv shows about Vegas who has a coupon website.I paid about $10 one time for a whole folder of coupons he sent me and I made out like a bandit on them.

Hooters always has a big denomination match play.The Stratosphere used to run a deal where if you lost $100 on slots,you would get a $100 check on your next vist so many days after the day you lost the $100.Terribles and Hard Rock have good funbooks.The harder it is to get to a place off the beaten path,the better the coupons and funbook.

Then there are still a couple places downtown,maybe the Golden Nugget that have the Win Ticket scrip free play chips that you pay $15 for????It's a good deal if they are small denomination chips.You can bet $1 field bets on craps and if you win,you get the winnings and your funny money chip back to try to win again.I always do well on that ifI stick to craps and playing the field.I like those $2-1 payouts on the field.

The Hooters one is not real. You have to play "special' machines. In other words one that never pay out.

The American Casino Guide has all sort of coupons went with 4 other couples. The women used the books to go different places and use the coupons, they had fun with it and kept them busy. They dragged us to a couple places. Ellis Island was fun all sort of free plays, free beers (they have a brewery) and they have a $6.95 steak Dinner (not bad). Thise smaller off-strip casinos can be a lot of fun, good way to discover Vegas.

If you go to a show go to one of the tix4tonight locations they have most shows at 50% off only can do it on same day as show. They are for unsold tickets. There is a location at 4 Queens downtown or right outside MGM on the strip
